மனவியல் வல்லுநரும் மனவியல் நல எழுத்தாளருமான ஜான் மேக்மானமி (John McManamy) என்பவர் மனவியல் நிபுனர்கல் நேரடியாக உணர்வின்மையினை அனுகாமல் மன அழுத்தத்தினை மட்டும் குணமாக்க முயலுவதாகக் கூறுகிறார்.

இருப்பினும் அவற்றின் உணர்வின்மை மற்றும் எண்ணிம புகைப்படம் எடுத்தல் நுட்பம் காரணமாக இந்த செயல்முறைகள் வழக்கற்றுப் போய்விட்டன, அனைத்தும் மறக்கப்பட்டும் விட்டன.
