ஈரப்பத மர வரிசை (Wetland tree-line): உவர் நீர் கொண்ட சதுப்புநிலம் மற்றும் நீர்த்தடம் கொண்ட ஈரப்பதம் மிக்க நிலங்களில் ஆக்சிசன் மிகவும் குறைவாக இருப்பதால் மரங்கள் வளர்வதில்லை.

குஜராத்தின் கட்ச் மாவட்டத்தில், சாரி-தந்து சதுப்பு நில காப்புக் காடுகள் என்ற பெயரில் சதுப்பு நிலங்கள் உள்ளது.

வட இந்தியாவிலும் பாக்கித்தானிலும் உள்ள கட்ச் உவர் சதுப்பு நிலப் பகுதியிலிருந்து ஒவ்வொரு தொகுதியிலும் ஆயிரத்துக்கு மேற்பட்ட பறவைகளாகப் பறந்து வரும் பூநாரை (Phoenicopterus roseus) இங்கு காணப்படுபவற்றில் குறிப்பிடத் தக்கதாகும்.

இந்தியாவின் பிற பகுதிகளில் இருந்து குறைந்த அளவிலான தடும்ப நாரைகள் இந்த சதுப்புநிலங்களுக்கு இனப்பெருக்கம் செய்ய வருகின்றன.

வட பகுதி சதுப்பு நிலங்களும் பெரிய அளவிலான வனப்பகுதியைக் கொண்டதாகவும் நிலவுகிறது.

இதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக, சிந்து நதிப்படுகைகளில் (காசிம் துறைமுகப் பகுதி உட்பட) கோரங்கி - பிட்டி கிரீக் அமைப்பில் சதுப்புநில சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைப்பைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்கான முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளன.

கங்கையின் கழிமுகத்தில்பரந்த சதுப்பு நிலமும் சுந்தரவனக் காடுகளும் உள்ளன.

சதுப்பு நிலங்களின் பகுதிகளை வடிகட்டுவது 1950களில் தொடங்கியது.

தற்போதைய யாழ்ப்பாண நகரத்தின் மையப்பகுதி அமைந்துள்ள இடங்கள் அக்காலத்தில் சதுப்பு நிலங்களாகவும், பனங் கூடல்களாகவுமே இருந்ததாகத் தெரிகிறது.
