அவர் மரபார்ந்த எந்திரவியலுக்கு ஒரு தெளிவான உருவம் கொடுத்து ஒளி மற்றும் கண்பார்வைப்பற்றி ஆரய்ந்தார்.

புவியின் வளிமண்டலத்துக்கு வெளியே கோணப் பிரிதிறன் ஒளிமுறிவினால் மட்டுமே பாதிக்கப்படுவதால் தெளிவான விம்பங்களைப் பெறமுடியும்.

அறை வெப்பநிலையில் (25 பாகை செல்சியசு) ஈரெத்தில் கார்பனேட்டு தெளிவான நீர்மமாகவும் குறைவான தீப்பற்றும் வெப்பநிலையும் கொண்டதாக உள்ளது.

நேரடிப் பலத்தைப் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கான வளங்களை அரசு மட்டுமே கொண்டிருக்கும் என்பது அவரது தெளிவான விளக்கம்.
