ஒற்றை விதையிலைத் தாவரங்களாகிய தென்னை, பனை, மூங்கில் முதலியவற்றின் தண்டுகளில் குழாய்த் திசு முடிச்சுக்கள் வட்டமாக அமையாமல் உட்சோற்றில் சிதறியிருப்பதுபோலக் காணும்.

இது ஒற்றை விதையிலைத் தாவர வகையினைத் சேர்ந்ததாகும்.

ஒற்றைவிதையிலைத் தாவரங்களின் இலைகளில் புல் அல்லது வாழையிற்போல முக்கிய நரம்புகள் ஒருபோகாக அமைந்திருக்கும்.

விதையிலைகள் அவரை ஆமணக்கிற் போல நிலத்துக்குமேலே வந்தாலும் வரும்.

நீர் சுழல் தாவரம் (Aldrovanda) திரோசிராசீயீ என்னும் இரட்டை விதையிலைத் தாவரக் குடும்பத்தைச் சார்ந்த ஆல்டிரோவான்டா என்ற பேரினத்தில் அடங்கும் ஒரு பூச்சி உண்ணும் தாவரம் ஆகும்.

விதையிலிருந்து முளைக்கும் சிறு நாற்றுக்கு ஆதாரமான உணவுப் பொருள், மா, எண்ணெய், புரோட்டீன் ஆகிய உருவத்தில் விதையிலைகளைச் சுற்றிலும், முளைசூழ்.

தசையாக ஆமணக்கில் போல விதைகளிலே சேமித்து வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்; அல்லது அந்த உணவுப் பொருள் அவரை, துவரையிற்போல விதையிலைகளிலேயே அடங்கியிருக்கும்.

இரட்டை விதையிலைத் தாவரங்களின் பூவின் அமைப்பிலும் வேறுபாடு காணலாம்.

இலைகளிலுள்ள நரம்புகளின் அமைப்பிலும் இரட்டை விதையிலைத் தாவரங்களில் ஒரு சிறப்பைக் காணலாம்.
