எஞ்சியுள்ள ஒரு கையை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் தோரணை அல்லது அபயமுத்ராவில் வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

பூரட்டாதியின் சமசுக்கிருதப்பெயரான பூர்வ பத்ரபாத (Purva Bhadrapada) என்பது "முதல் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட பாதங்கள்" என்னும் பொருள் கொண்டது.

பிரான்சியக் கிறித்தவக் கோவில்கள் லிங்கன் பேராலயம் (Lincoln Cathedral; முழுப்பெயர்: லிங்கன் பேராலயம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட கன்னி மரியாள் பேராலயம்) என்பது இங்கிலாந்தின் லிங்கன் எனுமிடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இங்கிலாந்து திருச்சபையின் ஓர் பேராலயம் ஆகும்.

இதற்கு இவர் பதிலளித்தார் "எனக்கு எந்த வருத்தமும் இல்லை, நான் இந்த வாழ்க்கையில் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்.

அங்கிருந்து மதுரை சென்று மீனாட்சியம்மை சந்நிதானத்திலே பிரசங்கித்து மீனாட்சிக்கு அணிவிக்கப்பெற்ற பரிவட்டமும் பூமாலையும் அணிவிக்கப்பட்டு ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டார்.

கீழைநாடுகளில் இதன் பொருள் 'வானம் பூச்சொரிந்து ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட மனிதன் ' என்பதாகும்.

விலங்குகள் பொதுவாக கடவுள்களினால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவையாகவோ அல்லது புனிதமடைந்தவையாகவோ கருதப்படுகின்றன.

பரமசிவர் குரு மற்றும் வாயு தேவர்களை அந்த இடத்தை தூய்மைப்படுத்துவதற்கான சடங்குகளை தொடங்கி நடத்த அனுமதி வழங்கினார் மேலும் அவர்கள் இருவரும் இணைந்து விக்ரஹத்தை நிறுவியதால் (அதாவது குருவும் வாயுவும் இணைந்து செயல் புரிந்ததால்) அன்றிலிருந்து அவ்விடம் குருவாயூர் என்ற வழங்கப்படும் என்று ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.

இலங்கையில் புத்தாண்டு பிறக்கும் விசூ புண்ணியக் காலத்தில், ஆலயத்தில் வழங்கப்படும் மருத்து நீர் எனப்படும் மூலிகைக் கலவையை இளையவர்களின் தலையில் மூத்தோர் வைத்து ஆசீர்வதிப்பர்.

ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டிலிருந்து, ஈஸ்டர் கூடைகளும், தேவாலயத்துக்கு கொண்டு வரப்படும், அதில் ஈஸ்டர் முட்டைகள் மட்டுமின்றி, பஸ்கா, குலிச் அல்லது ஈஸ்டர் ரொட்டிகள் போன்ற பிற பஸ்கா உணவுகள் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு அது சபைகுருவால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும்.
