எஞ்சியுள்ள ஒரு கையை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும் தோரணை அல்லது அபயமுத்ராவில் வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

பூரட்டாதியின் சமசுக்கிருதப்பெயரான பூர்வ பத்ரபாத (Purva Bhadrapada) என்பது "முதல் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட பாதங்கள்" என்னும் பொருள் கொண்டது.

பிரான்சியக் கிறித்தவக் கோவில்கள் லிங்கன் பேராலயம் (Lincoln Cathedral; முழுப்பெயர்: லிங்கன் பேராலயம் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட கன்னி மரியாள் பேராலயம்) என்பது இங்கிலாந்தின் லிங்கன் எனுமிடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள இங்கிலாந்து திருச்சபையின் ஓர் பேராலயம் ஆகும்.

இந்த இறைவன் தானே ஒருமுறை மனித வடிவை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார், மனிதகுலத்தினை ஆசீர்வதிப்பதற்காக இராமராக அவதாரம் எடுத்தார்.

இதற்கு இவர் பதிலளித்தார் "எனக்கு எந்த வருத்தமும் இல்லை, நான் இந்த வாழ்க்கையில் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்.

அங்கிருந்து மதுரை சென்று மீனாட்சியம்மை சந்நிதானத்திலே பிரசங்கித்து மீனாட்சிக்கு அணிவிக்கப்பெற்ற பரிவட்டமும் பூமாலையும் அணிவிக்கப்பட்டு ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டார்.

கீழைநாடுகளில் இதன் பொருள் 'வானம் பூச்சொரிந்து ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட மனிதன் ' என்பதாகும்.
