கனடாவின் வாட்டர்லூ பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் வேந்தராகவும் (Chancellor) சூன் 2009 முதல் உள்ளார்.

தொடக்கத்தில் இப்பாலத்தை வாட்டர்லூ பாலம் என்று அழைத்தனர், 1878 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மரத்தாலான கட்டமைப்புகளைப் பயன்படுத்தி இந்த பாலம் மீண்டும் கட்டப்பட்டது .

மேலும், பிரெஞ்சுப் புரட்சியின் போது 1793 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதலாக இருந்து வந்த முதலாம் பிரஞ்சு பேரரசு 1815 ஆம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற வாட்டர்லூ போரில் முதலாம் நெப்போலியனின் தோல்வியால் முடிவுக்கு வந்தது.

ஜான்சன், வாட்டர்லூ, நியு யார்க்ஐ நினைவு நாளின் பிறப்பிடமாக அங்கீகரித்து குடியரசுத் தலைவருக்குரிய அதிகாரப்பூர்வ பிரகடனத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டார்.
