பாதரசத்தின் அபாயகரமான நச்சுத்தன்மை காரணமாக பாதரச மின்வாய்கள் தடைசெய்யப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் பல வேதியியலர்கள் பாதரச மின்வாய்களின் துல்லியத்தை இன்னமும் நம்புகின்றனர்.

பல மாகாணங்கள், தம் மாகாணத்தில் CPA அல்லது PA என சான்றளிக்கப்படாத ஒரு நபர் "சான்றளிக்கப்பட்ட பொதுக் கணக்கர்" அல்லது "பொதுக் கணக்கர்" (அல்லது "CPA" அல்லது "PA" ஆகிய சுருக்கங்கள்) பதவிகளைப் பயன்படுத்துவதைத் தடைசெய்துள்ளன.

இந்தியாவில் இந்த வளிமம் 1997ம் ஆண்டு முதல் தடைசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
