அலைகளின் அகோரமில்லாத, ஆழமில்லாத விசாலமான கடற்பரப்பு, முருகைக்கற்பாறைகள், கடற் தாவரங்கள், கடல் வாழ் உயிரினங்கள் ஆகியவற்றின் இயற்கை வனப்பும், உல்லாச விடுதிகளும், கிடுகுகளால் அழகுற,நேர்த்தியாக வேயப்பட்ட “கபாணா” என்றழைக்கப்படும் உல்லாச விடுதிகளும், படகுச் சவாரிக்கு ஏற்ற கடலும், பாசிக்குடாவின் சிறப்புக்களாகும்.

இக்குடைவரை அதிக ஆழமில்லாத, நீளமான செவ்வக வடிவத்துடன் கூடிய மண்டபத்தைக் கொண்டது.

எரிமலைகளாலான தீவைச் சுற்றிலும் ஆழமில்லாத பவழப்பாறைகள் உள்ளன.

நிழற்படத்தில் பெரிய புல ஆழம் ஆழமான குவிவு எனவும், சிறிய புல ஆழம் ஆழமில்லாத குவிவு எனவும் அழைக்கப்படும்.
