இப்பாடலில் தலைவி, புணர்ச்சியின்போது தலைவன் தலைவியினுடைய மென்மைத் தன்மை கெடுமாறு நடந்து கொள்கிறான் என்றும் தலைவியின் ஊடலைத் தீர்ப்பதற்காகத் தன் தகுதியிலிருந்து தாழ்ந்து கெஞ்சுகிறான் என்றும், விருப்பம் அற்றவன் என்றும் கூறுவது பழிப்பது போலத் தோன்றுகிறது.

அவளுக்கு திருமணம் நடக்கப்போகும் நேரத்தில் மணமகன் பிரபாகரனின் அண்ணன் தான் எனத் தெரிய வர, அவள் பிரபாகரனின் காலில் விழுந்து அவளின் திருமண மறுப்பைக் கூறி கெஞ்சுகிறாள்.

அவள் தன்னை கொல்லவேண்டாமெனவும், தான் தன்னுடைய வயிற்றில் சிசுவொன்று இருப்பதாகவும் கெஞ்சுகிறாள்.
