பெரும்பாலும் நோய்களை அழிக்கும் அனைத்து மருத்துகளும் (antibiotics), இப்புரதஉற்பத்தியை தடுத்து, நுண்ணுயிர்களை பல்கிப் பெருக விடாமல் தடுக்கக்கூடியன.

தற்போது மலேரியாவை தடுக்கக்கூடிய தடுப்புமருந்து எதுவுமில்லை.
