மாற்றிடமேறிய சீழ்பிடித்த கட்டி, பித்தப்பை அழற்சி, இதய உள்ளுறையழற்சி மற்றும் எலும்பு அழற்சி.

நுகவென்புமுளை கணுக்களிலிருந்து வலி தோன்றுபவர்களில், மூட்டுக்குரிய சவ்வின் உள்முகமடிப்பு மற்றும் ஃபைப்ரோ-அடிப்போஸ் மெனிஸ்காய்டுகள் (ஒன்றன்மீது ஒன்றாக எலும்புகள் அசைய உதவி பஞ்சுமெத்தைப் போல் செயல்படுபவை) போன்ற கணுக்களுக்குள்ளிருக்கும் திசு மாற்றிடமாவது, அழுத்தத்திற்குள்ளாவது அல்லது சிக்கிவிடுவது மற்றும் இதனால் வலியெழுவது மற்றொரு கோட்பாடாகும்.

புத்திழையமானது அருகிலுள்ள இழையங்களினூடாக ஊடுருவி, வேறு இடங்களுக்குப் பரவும் மாற்றிடம் புகல் நிகழும்.

பொதுவாக நோயறிதல் நிகழும்போது மாற்றிடம் புகல் முறையில் புற்றுநோய் ஏற்கனவே பல உறுப்புகளுக்கு பரவியிருக்கும் ஒரு குழந்தையின் வயது, புற்றுநோயின் நிலை மற்றும் புற்றுநோயின் தோற்றம் ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் குறைந்த ஆபத்துள்ள இடைநிலை, அதிக ஆபத்துள்ள குழுநிலை என இரண்டு வகைகளாக நரம்புத்திசு புற்றுநோய் வகைப்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.

புற்றுநோய் வரலாறுள்ளவர்களுக்கு (அதிலும் முதுகுத்தண்டிற்கு பரவும் மார்பக, நுரையீரல் மற்றும் சுக்கியன் புற்றுநோய்) முதுகுவலி வந்தால், அவர்களுக்கு முதுகுத்தண்டின் மாற்றிடமேறும் நோயில்லையென்பது உறுதிசெய்யப்பட மதிப்பாய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும்.

இருப்பினும் இவர்களது முடிவுகள் இறுதியானவை அல்ல; இவர்களது முடிவை புறக்கணித்து மாற்றிட நடுவருக்கு அதிகாரம் உள்ளது.
