பி 769 இன் ஓர் பழங்கதைப்படி இவர் ஓர் மந்திர ஓதலால் புயலை உருவாக்கி பஞ்சத்தை உருவாக்கவிருந்த வெட்டுக்கிளிக் கூட்டத்தைக் கொன்றுள்ளார்.

வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் வெளித் தோற்றத்தில் தத்துக்கிளிகள் போலிருக்கும்.

இப்பறவையினம் சிறிய பல்லி, தவளை, பறவைக் குஞ்சுகள் போன்ற சிறு முண்ணானிகளையும் மயிர்க்கொட்டிகள், வெட்டுக்கிளி, கரப்பான் பூச்சி, வண்டு போன்ற பூச்சிகளையும், சிலந்தி, சிறு நண்டு போன்றவற்றையும் உணவாகக் கொள்ளும்.

இச்சூறாவளிகளால் அரேபியப் பாலைவனத்தில் வெட்டுக்கிளிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை சுமார் 8,000 மடங்கு அதிகமானது.

இது தனக்குக் கிடைக்கும் ஆகாரத்தை, அதாவது வெட்டுக்கிளி, ஓணான்,சுண்டெலி, சிறு பறவைகள் இவற்றை, வேலமரம் போன்ற ஒரு மரத்தின் நீண்ட முட்களில் குத்தி வைத்துக் கொள்ளும்.

தாவிச் செல்வதற்கு ஏற்றவாறு தத்துக்கிளியைப் (வெட்டுக்கிளி) போன்று இவற்றின் கால்கள் அமைந்துள்ளன.

இந்த வண்ணத்துப்பூச்சி பூங்காவில் அரை ஏக்கர் பரப்பளவில் சிறுவர் படகுக்குளம் மற்றும் இரும்பு தகடுகளால் வண்ணத்துப்பூச்சி வடிவில் செயற்கையாக செய்யப்பட்ட உருவமும், கல்மரமும், வண்டுகள், வெட்டுக்கிளி, உள்ளிட்ட பூச்சி வகைகள் செயற்கை கல்மரத்தில் மொய்க்கும் வகையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
