டி சார்பெண்டியர் வென்ட்ஸின் கருத்தாக்கத்தை பனிக்கட்டியாறு ஆல்ப்ஸ் மலைகளோடு வரம்பிற்குட்பட்டிருக்கின்றன என்ற கோட்பாடாக மாற்றினார்.

ஆழ்ந்த பனிக்கட்டியாறு ஆராய்ச்சிக்கு அகாஸிஸை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது தான்தான் என்பதால் தனக்கு அகாஸிஸ் முன்னுரிமையளித்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று டி சார்பெண்டிர் கருதினார்.

இருபதாண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் 1818 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஸ்வீடன் தாவரவியலாளரான கோரன் வாலன்பெர்க் (1780–1851) ஸ்காண்டிநேவியன் பெனிசுலாவின் பனிக்கட்டியாறு குறித்த தன்னுடைய கோட்பாட்டைப் பதிப்பித்தார்.

அவர் 1840 ஆம் ஆண்டில் பனிக்கட்டியாறுகள் குறித்த ஆய்வு ("Études sur les glaciers") என்ற புத்தகத்தைப் பதிப்பித்தார்.
