1304இல் வாழ்ந்த சமண சமயத் துறவி மெருங்க சூரி என்பவர் எழுதிய பிரபந்த சிந்தாமணி என்ற நூலில் ராணி உதயமதி நிறுவிய இந்த படிக் கிணற்றைப் பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் காணப்படுகிறது.
