குப்ரிக்கின் தாத்தாவுக்கு தாத்தா லிவர்பூல் வழியாக கப்பலில் எல்லிசு தீவுக்கு டிசம்பர் 27, 1899 அன்று வந்தவர் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.

குப்ரிக் தயோசயனேட்டு என்ற பெயராலும் இதை அழைக்கலாம்.

உதாரணமாக குப்ரிக் புரோமைடை சல்பைட்டுடன் சேர்த்து ஆக்சிசன் குறைப்பு வினைக்கு உட்படுத்தினால் குப்ரசு புரோமைடும் ஐதரசன் புரோமைடும் உருவாகின்றன.

மேற்கு பிராங்சு பகுதியின் சமூக மதிப்புகளைக் கொண்டு பார்த்தால் குப்ரிக்கின் குடும்பம் ஒரு பணக்காரக் குடும்பமாக இருந்துள்ளது.

அவருடைய சகோதரியின் பிறப்புக்குப் பின்னர், குப்ரிக் பிராங்க்சு பொது பள்ளி 3-ம் வகுப்பில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டு சூன் 1938 இல் பொது பள்ளி 90-க்கு சென்றார்.

ஸ்டீபன் கிங்கின் தி ஷைனிங் (1980) நாவலைத் தழுவி ஸ்டான்லி குப்ரிக் எடுத்த திரைப்படத்திற்கு இவர் எந்த அகாதமி விருதையும் பெறவில்லை என்றாலும் அது நிக்கல்சனின் மிக முக்கியமான பாத்திரங்களில் ஒன்றாய் விளங்குகிறது.

1927 ஆம் ஆண்டில் நியூயார்க் ஓமியோபதி மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியில் அவர் பட்டம் பெற்றார், அதே வருடத்தில் ஆசுத்திரிய யூத குடியேற்றவாதிகளின் குழந்தையான குப்ரிக்கின் தாயை திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார் .

Among the analytical methods worked up by him the best known is that for the estimation of sugars by "Fehling's solution," which consists of a solution of cupric sulphate mixed with alkali and potassium-sodium tartrate (Rochelle salt).

It reduces many metallic oxides, such as lead monoxide and cupric oxide, and decomposes water at a red heat.

When potassium iodide is added to a solution of cupric acetate, the reaction (Cu(C 2 H 3 0 2) 2 + 2KI Cul + 2K(C 2 H 3 0 2) + I takes place; that is, for each atom of copper one atom of iodine is liberated.

Another mode of separating the two acids is to convert them into calcium salts, which are then treated with a perfectly neutral solution of cupric chloride, soluble cupric citrate and calcium chloride being formed, while cupric tartrate remains undissolved.
