இவற்றுள் கூம்புகளே நிறப் புலனுணர்வுக்கு அடிப்படையானவை.

நேர்வட்டக்கூம்பு என்பது அடிப்பக்கம் வட்டமாகவும் கூம்பின் உச்சியையும் அடிவட்டமையத்தையும் இணைக்கும் கோடு (கூம்பின் அச்சு) அடித்தளத்திற்கு செங்குத்தாகவும் கொண்ட கூம்பாகும்.
