இடைக்கால மங்கோலியர்கள் மற்றும் அங்கேரியர்கள் போன்று சில தேசங்கள், இலகுரக மற்றும் கனரக ஏற்ற வில்லாளிகளை கொண்டிருந்தது.

அவரைப் போன்ற ஒரு சிறந்த வில்லாளி மங்கோலிய ராணுவத்திற்கு ஒரு சொத்தாக இருப்பார் என்று சூச்சி கூறினார்.

காலாட்படை குதிரையின்மீது சவாரி செய்கையில் தாக்கவல்ல, வில் ஏந்திய குதிரைப்படை வீரரைதான், குதிரையேற்ற வில்லாளி, துரக வில்லாளி அல்லது அசுவ வில்லாளி  என்பர்.

துரோணர் பீஷ்மரை அணுகி கெளரவருக்கும் பாண்டவருக்கும் வில்வித்தை கற்றுத்தர அனுமதி பெற்று அருச்சுனனைச் சிறந்த வில்லாளியாக்கினார்.

பாரம்பரியமாக இந்த முடிச்சை வில்லாளியின் முடிச்சு என்பர், ஆனால் இது ஒரு உருளை முடிச்சு ஆகும்.
