அதீனா பேரினத்தின் அறியப்பட்ட தொல்லுயிர் எச்ச காலம் மற்றும் ஐரோப்பாவில் இருந்து கிடைத்த பல மியோசீன் கால உண்மையான ஆந்தை குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்கள் தவறாக வகைப்படுத்தப்பட்டமை ஆகியவை இது இந்த பேரினத்தின் ஆரம்ப கால உறுப்பினர் அல்லது இந்தப் பேரினத்திற்கு தொடர்பில்லாத உறுப்பினராக இருக்கலாம் என்று கருதப்படுகிறது.
