எமுலொக்கு என்ற தாவரத்திலிருந்து பெறப்படும் காரப்போலி (அல்கலாய்டு) கொனீன் போன்றவையும் இதில் அடங்கும்.

ராஜா வில்ஃபோர்ட்ரைன் (wilfortrine) என்பது ஒன்றரை டெர்பீன் (sesquiterpene) ஆல்க்கலாய்டு எனும் காரப்போலி ஆகும்.

இந்த இனத்தில் உள்ள மற்ற தாவரங்களைப் போலவே, இந்த தாவரத்திலும் உளத்தூண்டி காரப்போலி அபோர்பைன் (அபோமார்பைனுடன் குழப்பிக்கொள்ளக்கூடாது) உள்ளது, இவற்றை உட்கொள்ளும்போது மயக்கத்தை அளிக்கும்.
