ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਤਰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਭਾਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਸਕਣਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਰਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਬੰਧ ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ, ਕਿਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਛੜੇ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ਾਂ, ਅਭਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਕਰੂਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਵਿਅੰਗ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
