1986 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਮੈਮੋਰੀਅਲ ਅੰਤਰ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ/ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
