ਇਸੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਪੜਨ ਦੇ ਲੁਤਫ਼’ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਕਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੰਚ ਉੱਪਰ ਆਏ ਨਾਟਕ-ਲੇਖਕ, ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਵੀ ਗਿਰੀਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾਡ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਨੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਦਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਅਸਲ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ’ਚ ਜੋ ਲੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਿਰੂਮ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਪਾਲਤੂ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ 2 ਤੋਂ 4 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਮ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਅਰਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਗਰਟ ਪੀਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਨ 1979 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਫੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ 31 ਮਾਰਚ 1980 ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਛੱਡ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਥਲੀਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਤੋੜ ਸਕਿਆ।
