ਹਰਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਤਕ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ 1907 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਨਾਈਟਹੁਡ, ਕੇਸੀਐਸਆਈ ਖਤਾਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਉਸਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਲਈ ਅਵਧ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਕਦਮ ਦਾ ਜਗਤਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਸੀ।
