ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਹਜਹਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਤੂ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਬਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਫੜੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਾਜ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਅਹਿਲਕਾਰ ਮੁਖਲਸ ਖ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ 7000 ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
