ವಚನಕಾರರು ಮಣಿಪುರಿ ನೃತ್ಯ ಭಾರತದ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೀಯ ನೃತ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು.

ವಚನಕಾರರು ಶೈವಾಗಮಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಪಾಶುಪತ, ಕಾಳಾಮುಖ ಮುಂತಾದ ಶುಷ್ಕತತ್ತ್ವ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಸ್ವಾನುಭವದಿಂದ ಷಟ್ಸ್ಥಲವಿಧಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ತಳದ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲಿಂದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿ ಶಿವನನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಾಶಸ್ತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ವಚನಕಾರರುಮಾದರ ಚೆನ್ನಯ್ಯನ ಭಕ್ತಿ ನೋಡಿ ಶಿವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಶಿವ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತೇ ಶ್ರೀ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಅವನ ಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ " ಗಣ " ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿತು .

ಕನ್ನಡಭಾಷೆಯ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ತಳಮಟ್ಟ ಕೈವಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ವಚನಕಾರರು ಆ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸಿದರು.

ಮುಂದೆ 15ನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ವಚನಕಾರರು ಹಿಂದಿನ ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ದು ಜೋಡಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಂಸ್ಕøತದ ‘ಸಾನಂದ ಚರಿತೆ’ಯನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ ತ್ರಿಭುವನತಾತನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ವೀರಶೈವ ಕವಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಚನಕಾರರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಧರ್ಮಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪನೆಗಾಗಿ ಜೈನ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ವಿಡಂಬಿಸಿ ಕಾವ್ಯ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
