ಗುಲ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಗಲಗ್ರಂಥಿ(ಟಾನ್ಸಿಲ್)ಯು ದೊಡ್ಡ ದುಗ್ಧದ ಅಂಗಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.

ಗುಲ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಾಧವಾಗಿ ರಕ್ತ ಶೇಖರಣೆ ಆದಾಗಲೂ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಅದು ದಪ್ಪವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಏಡಿಗಂತಿಗಳಂಥ ಸ್ವಭಾವವುಳ್ಳ ಲ್ಯುಕೀಮಿಯ, ಲಿಂಫೋಮ ಮುಂತಾದ ರೋಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗುಲ್ಮದ ಗೆಡ್ಡೆ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲವೇಳೆ ತೊರಳೆ (ಗುಲ್ಮ), ಈಲಿ, ಹಾಲುರಸಗಂಟುಗಳು ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಅಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೊಂಕುಹತ್ತಿಸಿ ಸಾಯಿಸಲೂಬಹುದು.

ಗುಲ್ಮ ಸಂಬಂಧಿ ರೋಗಗಳಗೆ ಗಜನಿಂಬೆಯ ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ಕಾಯಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಮದ್ದು.
