ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವರನ್ನು ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸ್‍ನಿಂದ ಹೊರದೂಡಲಾಯಿತು.

೧೯೪೦ - ಸಿಖ್ಖರ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುವ, ಜಲಿಯನ್‍ವಾಲಾ ಬಾಗ್ ಹತ್ಯಾಕಾಂಡದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷದರ್ಶಿ ಹಾಗು ಆ ಹತ್ಯಾಕಾಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಃ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡ, ಉಧಾಮ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ರೆಜಿನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಡೈಯರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಲಂಡನ್ನಿನ ಕ್ಯಾಕ್‍ಸ್ಟನ್ ಹಾಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ಯೆಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಆಗಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಲೇಖಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ರಶೀದ್ ಜಹಾನ್‍‍ರ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೃತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಅವರ ರೀತಿಯೇ, ನಾಯಕಿಯರನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಶುಕ್ಲಾ ಅವರು 1907 ರ ಮೇ 15 ರಂದು (ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿ- ಸುಖದೇವ್ ಅವರ ಅದೇ ದಿನ) ಬಂಗಾಳ ಪ್ರೆಸಿಡೆನ್ಸಿಯ (ಈಗ ಬಿಹಾರದ ವೈಶಾಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ) ಮುಜಫರ್‌ಪುರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜಲಾಲ್‌ಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು.

ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ವಿಶ್ವಕೋಶ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಕಾರಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ.
