ನಿಹಾಲಿ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಅವರ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಪುರಾಣಗಳು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಎಷ್ಟು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತವಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂಬುದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

1819ರಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಿಮ್ ಸೋದರರ ಜರ್ಮನ್ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಸಂಕಲನ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದಾಗಲೇ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಮಟ್ಟಿನ ವೈe್ಞÁನಿಕ ವಿವೇಚನೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.

ಗಿದ್ದಾವನ್ನು ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ಪುರಾಣಕಥೆ ಬೇರೆ, ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆ ಬೇರೆಯೆಂಬ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ತೀರ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಜನರಿಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
