ये शब्द हिंदी के संबंधबोधक तथा समुच्चयबोधक शब्द की विभक्ति और क्रियाविशेषण का काम करते हैं।

उदाहरण के लिए उन्होंने शब्दभेद (पार्ट्स ऑफ स्पीच) के वर्णन में पश्चिमी व्याकरण या अंग्रेजी व्याकरण में प्रचलित शब्दभेदों- संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया, क्रियाविशेषण, संबंधबोधक, समुच्चयबोधक और विस्मयादिबोधक को लिया है।
