क्षिप्रा नदी के तट पर सिथत, अवनितका अथवा उज्जयिनी (वर्तमान उज्जैन) भारतीय पुराणों में एक पवित्र मोक्षदाता तीर्थ बताया गया है और अंकपात क्षेत्र, जहा चित्रगुप्त जी ने तपस्या करके सर्वज्ञता की थी, उज्जैन नगर से लगभग 12 किमी. उत्तर दिशा में सिथत है।
