இந்தியத் தொலைக்காட்சி நிறுவனங்கள் கவுதாரி அல்லது கௌதாரி (Grey Francolin) எனப்படுபவை தெற்காசியாவில் வயல்வெளிகளிலும் புதர் மண்டிய இடங்களிலும் காணப்படும் பறவையினம்.

காட்டு விலங்குகள் காட்டு எருமை, மான், முயல்கள், நரிகள், கீரிப் பிள்ளை, அணில், கௌதாரி, பாம்புகள், குருவி, பருந்து இங்கு வாழ்கின்றன.

கௌதாரிகள் அடிக்கடி டெட்ரோனினாய் துணை குடும்பத்தின் கீழ் வகைப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.

கௌதாரி இனத்திலேயே பெரிய இனமான மரக் கௌதாரியில் ஆண்கள் பெண் பறவைகளைப் போல இரு மடங்கு  எடையுடன் இருக்கும்.

இப்பறவை கௌதாரியைவிட சற்றுப் பெரியதாகவும், தலை தடித்து உருண்டும், ஆள்காட்டி குருவியின் நிறத்தில் இருக்கும்.

உசாத்துணை மண் கௌதாரி (Sandgrouse) என்பது ப்டெரோக்லிடிடாய் (Pteroclididae) குடும்பப் பறவைகளுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் பொதுவான பெயர் ஆகும்.

இக்கிளை புறாக்கள், மண் கௌதாரிகள் மற்றும் மெசைட்கள் ஆகியவற்றையும் கொண்டுள்ளது.
