இவை செல் சவ்வு முழுவதும் துல்லியமான சாய்வு விகிதத்தை பராமரித்து சவ்வூடுபரவற்குரிய அழுத்தம் மற்றும் காரஅளவை (PH) கட்டுப்படுத்துகின்றன.

இரண்டு அடுக்குகளுக்கு இடையில் உள்ள கரைபொருள் செறிவு வேறுபாடும் (சவ்வூடுபரவற்குரிய அழுத்தம்), வெளிப்புறம் செயற்படுத்தப்படும் அழுத்தமும் இந்த அழுத்தத்திற்கு காரணமாக அமைகிறது.
