பதினெட்டாம் நூற்றாண்டின் நடுப்பகுதியில் ஆங்கிலேயர்கள் புதிய வில்லியம் கோட்டை கட்டியபோது, ஒரு வணிகராகவும், சந்தன்நகரில் பிரெஞ்சு அரசாங்கத்திற்கு திவானாகவும் ஒரு பெரிய செல்வத்தை குவித்த ஜெயராம் தாகூர், கோவிந்தபூரிலிருந்து பாதுரியகட்டாவுக்கு மாறினார்.

வில்லியம்ஸ் கொச்சி மாநகராட்சியின் 36 வது மண்டலத்தை (குன்னம்புரம்) பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தினார்.

இந்தப் போட்டி மலேசியத் தலைநகர் அந்தோனி வில்லியம் கிரெய்க் (Anthony William Greig) என்பவர் இங்கிலாந்து நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த தேர்வுத் துடுப்பாட்ட அணியின் தலைவராக இருந்து விளையாட்டு வர்ணனையாளராக மாறிய ஓர் ஆளுமையாவார்.

இவரது இறப்புக்குப் பின் இவரது அரிய பணியைப் போற்றும் விதமாக திருவில்லிப்புத்தூர் காப்புக்காட்டில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப் பட்ட கேழல்மூக்கன் வகைத் தவளை ஒன்றுக்கு நாசிக்காபாட்ராக்கசு பூபதி என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

I was recently given a giant millipede for my birthday.

The number is significant, since it agrees with that found in Edriophthalmous Crustacea, and assigns the labium of the Hexapod to the same somite numerically as that which carries the labium-like maxillipedes of those Crustacea.

In the maxillipeds and the trunk-legs it is common to find or otherwise easy to trace a seven-jointed stem, the endopod, from which may spring two branches, the epipod from the first joint, the exopod from the second.

The word refers to the jointing of the chitinized exo-skeleton of the limbs or lateral appendages of the animals included, which are, roughly speaking, the Crustacea, Arachnida, Hexapoda (so-called " true insects "), Centipedes and Millipedes.

Like the pill woodlice, the pill millipede is rather more tolerant of dry conditions than it's relatives.

Just a little further along we found several orchids and a large black millipede.

Mosquitoes, termites, bees, ants, centipedes, millipedes, locusts, grasshoppers, butterflies, dragonflies, sandflies and spiders' are found in immense numbers.

This mechanism as a whole is unique, although, as Sars observes, the epipod of the first maxillipeds has a respiratory function also in the Lophogastridae and Mysidae and in the cheliferous isopods.
