எனவே இந்நோயை உண்டாக்கக்கூடிய காரணிகள் நெஞ்செரிவுக்குக் காரணமாகின்றது.

அவ்வப்போது ஏற்படும் நெஞ்செரிவு , இரையக உண்குழலியப் பின்னோட்ட நோய் ஆகிய காரணங்களுக்காக இதை வாங்கிப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.

நெஞ்செரிவு பொதுவாக இரையக உண்குழலியப் பின்னோட்ட நோயில் அமிலம் மேல்நோக்கிச் செல்வதால் ஏற்படுகின்றது, எனினும் மாரடைப்பு போன்ற இதய குருதி ஊட்டக்குறை நோயிலும் (ischemic heart disease) இத்தகைய நோய் உணர்குறி ஏற்படும், இதனால் இவ்விரு நோய்களையும் அடையாளம் காண்பதற்கு இவ்வறிகுறி மட்டும் போதாது.
