எந்த வளிமமும் அதன் நீர்மநிலையில் இருந்து, ஆவி நிலைக்கு மாறும் போது சிறிது உள்ளுறை வெப்பத்தை (latent heat) அதன் நீர்மத்தில் இருந்து கவர்ந்து கொள்ளும்.

மரக்கரி சில வளிமங்களை உட்கவர்ந்து கொள்கிறது.

சூரிய ஒளியோடு சேர்ந்து வரும் தீங்கிழைக்க வல்ல புற ஊதாக் கதிர்களை இந்த ஓசோன் படலம் உட்கவர்ந்து கொள்வதால் அவை பூமியின் நிலப்பரப்பை எட்டுவதில்லை.

இந்து சமய நம்பிக்கைகள் ஈர்ப்பு விசை அல்லது பொருள் ஈர்ப்பு விசை அல்லது புவி ஈர்ப்பு விசை என்பது இயற்கையாக பொருட்கள் ஒன்றை ஒன்று கவர்ந்து கொள்ளும் விசை, அவற்றின் திணிவுகளின் பெருக்கத்துக்கு நேர்விகிதத்தில் இருப்பது ஆகும்.

ஆனால் அதற்கு முற்பட்ட காலங்களில் தமிழர் நிலங்களை கவர்ந்து கொள்ளும் (அபகரிப்புச் செய்யும்) பலத் திட்டங்கள் சிங்கள இனத்தால் வெவ்வேறு காலகட்டங்களில் நிகழ்ந்தே உள்ளன.

புவியின் ஆழத்தில் திரவ அடுக்கின் வெளிப்புற மையம் நெட்டலைகள் அல்லது அமுக்கப்பட்ட (P-அலைகளை) விலகலடையவும், குறுக்கலைகளை (S- அலைகள்) உட்கவர்ந்து கொள்ளவும் செய்கின்றது இதன் காரணத்தால், நில அதிர்ச்சி மையத்திலிருந்து பூமியின் எதிர் பக்கத்தில் நிலநடுக்க மறைவுப் பகுதி ஏற்படுகிறது.
