ਇਧਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਲਗਨ, ਪਿਆਰ, ਸਤਿਕਾਰ, ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਆਦਿ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ 1 ਸਤੰਬਰ 1581 ਨੂੰ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਉਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ, ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਦਾ ਤਿਲਕ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਚੌਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾ ਗਏ।
