ಹನುಮಂತನು ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಜಾಂಬವನನು ಪರ್ವತದಿಂದ ಸಂಜೀವಿನಿ ಮೂಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರ ರಸವನ್ನು ಅಮಲೇರಿದ ಇಲಶ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ವಾನರ ಸೇನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿ ಅದರ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದನು.

ಕಾಡು ಸೇಬು ಎಂದು ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯುವ ಅಳಿವಿನಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸ್ಪಿಯರ್ಲಿಂಗ್ (ಸೋರ್ಬಸ್ ಡೊಮೆಸ್ಟಿಕ ) ಅಥವಾ ಸ್ಪೆಯರ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಎಂಬ ಒಂದು ಜಾತಿಯ ಸಣ್ಣ, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮರದ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಸಂಸ್ಕರಿಸದ ರಸವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಅಪ್ಫೆಲ್‌ವೈನ್ಅನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ರುಚಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಉಪ್ಪು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಂಬೆರಸವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಕಲಸಬೇಕು.

ರಸವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯವೆಂದೊಪ್ಪಿದರೆ ಅದು ಕಾವ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಹೇಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದಂತಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ಇವನ ಭಾವನೆ.

ಇದರ ಎಲೆ, ತೊಗಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೂವಿನ ರಸವನ್ನು ಔಷಧ ತಯಾರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
