मगर पृथ्वी की गोल या वक्र सतह पर नापी दूरियाँ यदि अधिक लंबी न हों, तो उन्हें वक्र न मानकर ऋजु (सीधा) ही मान लिया जाए, तो कोई विशेष त्रुटि नहीं होगी।
