साधारणत: बहुवचनांतक इक्ष्वाकुओं का तात्पर्य इक्ष्वाकु से उत्पन्न कुर्मी सूर्यवंशी राजाओं से होता है, परंतु प्राचीन साहित्य में उससे एक इक्ष्वाकु जाति का भी बोध होता है।

यह पंडुक के बराबर होता है और स्थूलकाय, धूमिल भूरे रंग का पक्षी है।
