बृहदारण्यकम् -- इस काण्ड में प्रवर्ग्यकर्म, धर्म-विधि महावीरपात्र, प्रवर्ग्योत्सादन, प्रवर्ग्यकर्तृक नियम, ब्रह्मविद्या, मन्थ तथा वंश इत्यादि का प्रतिपादन हुआ है।

जहाँ पर वो ब्रह्मविद्या, परब्रह्म की शक्ति और सांसारिक माँ के रूप में दिखाई गई हैं।

वे ब्रह्मविद्या हैं।

वानप्रस्थियों और संन्यासियों के लिए आत्मतत्त्व और ब्रह्मविद्या के ज्ञान के लिए मुख्य रूप से इन ग्रन्थों की रचना हुई है-ऐसा माना जाता है।
