इसके परिणामस्वरूप इससे ग्रस्त व्यक्ति प्रायः चिड़चिड़ा और आलसी रहता है।

इसका फल सामान्यत: गोलाकार और ऊपर की ओर नुकीला होता है।

बाल कोमल से लेकर रुखड़ा, कड़ा (जैसे सूअर का) और नुकीला तक (जैसे साही का) होता है।

शुरूआती चरण में दाद सिर्फ दाद होती हैं, जिसका समय से उपचार नही होने पर बाल जड़ना, दाग धब्बे पड़ना, चिड़चिड़ापन  होना आदि कई तरह की समस्या आ जाती है।

इसके अंतिम खंड से अंतस्थ उपांग (appendage) संधिबद्ध (articulated) होता है और पुच्छीय मेरुदंड (caudal spine) आधार पर फूला और शीर्ष पर, जहाँ विषग्रंथियों की वाहिनियाँ खुलती हैं, नुकीला होता है।
