भोजपत्र, बाँस आदि के पत्ते तथा चर्म से जो सामग्री बनाई जाती थी उसे संघिम, यंत्र के द्वारा संचालित की जा सकनेवाली को व्याजिम और लपेटकर बनाई जानेवाली का वेष्टिम कहते हैं।

अपनी बात और उसके निष्कर्ष को सही सिद्ध करने के लिये चतुर लोग जानबूझकर मिथ्या हेतु का सहारा लेते हैं।

भयानक कारणभेद से व्याजजन्य या भ्रमजनित, अपराधजन्य या काल्पनिक तथा वित्रासितक या वास्तविक नाम से तीन प्रकार का और स्वनिष्ठ परनिष्ठ भेद से दो प्रकार का माना जाता है।

मिथ्या हेतु बहुत प्रकार के होते हैं।

जिसे कुछ लोगों ने इसे कर्तव्य-बद्ध साम्राज्य गठन के गान के रूप में देखा (जिसने विक्टोरियन युग के भाव पर कब्जा किया), इन कविताओं को समान रूप से ढीठ साम्राज्यवाद और उसके सहयोगी नस्लीय व्यवहार के घिनौने रूप के प्रचार के रूप में भी कुछ लोगों द्वारा देखा गया इसके बावजूद व्याजोक्ति और साम्राज्य के खतरों की चेतावनी भी कुछ लोगों को इसमें दिखाई देती है।

रेलवे कंपनी वाले जो द्रव्य व्यय किया है, उसका व्याज सरकार को देना पड़ता है और उसे लेने वाले बहुधा विलायत के लोग हैं।

इधर राधा की सखी राधा से मान को छोड़ने का अनुरोध करती है उधर स्वयं श्रीकृष्ण राधा के रूप-सौन्दर्य की प्रशंसा के व्याज से उसकी चाटुकारिता करते हुए उसे मनाने एवं अपने अनुकूल बनाने की चेष्टा करते हैं।

परीक्षा के उपाय के निमित प्रयुक्त प्रधान शब्द है-उपधा जिसकी व्याव्या "नीतिवाक्यामृत' के अनुसार है--धमार्थिकामभयेषु व्याजेन परचित्तपरीक्षणम्‌ उपधा।

अनिवासी रुपया खाता (Non resident rupee account) : इसमें अनिवासी भारतीय द्वारा वाणिज्य बैंकों में भारतीय रुपए में खाता खोला जाता है तथा इन खातों के मूलधन एवं व्याज को बिना किसी करके जमाकर्ता को उसके देश में उसकी मुद्रा में वापस कर दिया जाता है।
