:*एस्ट्रिडी (Oestridae) - इस कुल की वार्बल (Warble) और बधई (Bot) इत्यादि मक्खियाँ वस्तुत: परोपजीवी जीवन व्यतीत करती है और घोड़ों तथा दूसरे प्राणियों को कष्ट देती हैं।

कुछ समूहों में पूरा जीव ही बदल जाता है; उदाहरणत: कुछ समपाद (आइसोपाड) क्रस्टेशिया के डिंभ (लार्वा), जब तक वे स्वतंत्र जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं, नर रहते हैं, परंतु अन्य क्रस्टेशिया पर परोपजीवी होने के पश्चात्‌ वे मादा हो जाते हैं।

इसे सामान्यतः फुफ्फुस ताऊन (Lung Plague) भी कहते हैं।
