प्रोटेमनोडन (Protemnodon) जाति के कई कंगारू बहुत प्रसिद्ध हैं जो घास के मैदानों में रहते हैं।

इसी का निकट संबंधी लाल कंगारू भी किसी से कम प्रसिद्ध नहीं है, यह आस्ट्रेलिया के मध्य भाग के निचले पठारों पर रहता है।
