संविधान सभा ने जन-गण-मन हिन्दुस्तान के राष्ट्रगान के रूप में २४ जनवरी १९५० को अपनाया था।

यह जाति हिन्दूस्तान की मूलनिवासी जाति है।

इन तीन देशों में भाषा के नाम के आगे विशेषण जोड़ दिया जाता है जिस से उदाहरण के लिए सूरीनाम में स्थानीय भाषा के संस्करण को सारनामी हिन्दूस्तानी कहा जाता है।

हिन्दुस्तानी मानकीकृत हिन्दी और मानकीकृत उर्दू के बोलचाल की भाषा है।

आगरा जिले में प्रमुख रूप से हिंदी दैनिक जैसे कि अमर उजाला, दैनिक जागरण, हिन्दुस्तान (समाचार पत्र), आज, दाता सन्देश, दीपशील भारत इत्यादि समाचार-पत्र प्रकाशित होते हैं।

विख्यात हिन्दुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत घरानों में मध्य प्रदेश के मैहर घराने, ग्वालियर घराने और सेनिया घराने शामिल हैं।

इसके अतिरिक्त भारत, पाकिस्तान और अन्य देशों में 14 करोड़ 10 लाख लोगों द्वारा बोली जाने वाली उर्दू, व्याकरण के आधार पर हिन्दी के समान है, एवं दोनों ही हिन्दुस्तानी भाषा की परस्पर-सुबोध्य रूप हैं।

अफ़गानिस्तान के बाद सिन्धु नदी के इस पार हिन्दुस्तान के पूरे इलाके को प्राचीन फ़ारसी साहित्य में भी 'हिन्द', 'हिन्दुश' के नामों से पुकारा गया है तथा यहाँ की किसी भी वस्तु, भाषा, विचार को विशेषण के रूप में 'हिन्दीक' कहा गया है जिसका मतलब है 'हिन्द का' या 'हिन्द से'।

इसके अतिरिक्त दैनिक भास्कर, दैनिक जागरण, दैनिक हिन्दुस्तान, खबर मन्त्र, आई नेक्स्ट उदितवाणी, चमकता आईना, उत्कल मेल,स्कैनर इंडिया,इंडियन गार्ड तथा आवाज जैसे हिन्दी समाचारपत्र भी प्रदेश के बहुत से हिस्सों में काफी पढ़े जाते हैं।

यह हिन्दुस्तानी भाषा की एक मानकीकृत रूप है जिसमें संस्कृत के तत्सम तथा तद्भव शब्दों का प्रयोग अधिक है और अरबी-फ़ारसी शब्द कम हैं।

हालाँकि जिस पर उन्होंने कभी शासन किया था वह हिन्दूस्तान अब पाकिस्तान, भारत और बंगलादेश में बँट गया है, पर उनका प्रभाव आज भी व्यापक रूप से देखा जा सकता है।

एक तीसरा नाम हिन्दुस्तान भी है जिसका अर्थ हिन्द की भूमि, यह नाम विशेषकर अरब तथा ईरान में प्रचलित हुआ।
