इस प्रकार प्राप्त समीकरण यूलर का समीकरण कहलाता है जो इस प्रकार है-।

जड़त्वाघूर्ण की अवधारणा का उल्लेख सबसे पहले यूलर (Euler) ने सन् १७३० में अपनी पुस्तक ' Theoria motus corporum solidorum seu rigidorum ' में किया था।

अपने शोध कार्यों के दौरान ही उन्होनें स्विट्जरलैंड के गणितज्ञ लियोनार्ड यूलर के जादुई वर्ग के सिद्धांतो को गलत साबित किया।

जी ई म्यूलर वास्तव में दर्शन तथा इतिहास के विद्यार्थी थे किंतु फेक्नर के साथ पत्रव्यवहार के फलस्वरूप उनका ध्यान मनोदैहिक समस्याओं की ओर गया।

क्रियाविज्ञान के विद्वान् हेरिंग (1834-1918), भौतिकी के विद्वान् मैख (1838-1916) तथा जी ई म्यूलर (1850 से 1934) के नाम भी उल्लेखनीय हैं।

उन्होंने लघुगणक के द्वारा हरात्मक श्रेढि के आंशिक योग का सन्निकटन किया, (यूलर के समेशन सूत्र का एक पूर्वगामी) और वे पहले व्यक्ति थे जिन्होंने आत्मविश्वास के साथ घात श्रृंखला का प्रयोग किया और घात श्रृंखला का विलोम किया।

यह 21 जुलाई, 1993 को एक नए मॉड्यूलर कर्नेल और Win32 एप्लिकेशन प्रोग्रामिंग इंटरफ़ेस (एपीआई) के साथ, 16-बिट (MS-DOS- आधारित) विंडोज से पोर्टिंग को आसान बनाता है।

१७५० में लियोनार्ड यूलर ने न्यूटन के गति नियमो का विस्तार किया और यूलर के गति नियमों का निर्माण किया जिन्हें दृढ और विरूपणशील पिंडो पर भी लगाया जा सकता है।
