एक त्वचा की देखभाल संबंधी लोशन, क्रीम या जेल पायसन (तेल और पानी का मिश्रण) के प्रमुख घटक जलीय और तैलीय दो प्रावस्थायें, इन दो प्रावस्थाओं के विभाजन को रोकने के लिए पायसीकर और यदि मिलाना हो तो भेषज या भेषज पदार्थ, इसके अतिरिक्त सुगंध, ग्लिसरॉल, पेट्रोलियम जेली, रंजक, परिरक्षक, प्रोटीन और स्थिरण एजेंट जैसे घटक सामान्यतः लोशन में मिलाये जाते हैं।
