विषय की गहनता तथा शुष्कता के कारण यह शैली में कुछ शुष्क और रहित है।

शुष्कता से जंगल की सीमा में संकुचन होता है और इस प्रकार प्राणी नए आश्रय (haunts) की खोज के लिए प्रेरित होता है।

सूखापन चाहे आंतों में हो या सांस-नली में अरबी खाने से लाभ होता है।

शुष्क हवा में प्यास अधिक लगती हैं बाहर की शुष्कता के कारण त्वचा के छिद्रों से शरीर के भीतरी जल का वाष्पन अधिक होता है, जिससे भीतरी जल की मात्रा घट जाती है।
