क्रिस्टल बनने की प्रक्रिया को क्रिस्टलन या क्रिस्टलीकरण (crystallization या solidification) कहते हैं।



लवण के पुन: क्रिस्टलीकरण से यह शुद्ध रूप में प्राप्त होता है।

यह बड़ी मात्रा में ऐलूनाइट या फिटकरी पत्थर (K2SO4 Al2(SO4)3.4 Al(OH)3) के वायु में भंजन, निक्षालन (lixiviation) और क्रिस्टलीकरण से प्राप्त होती है।
